EDGS Faculty and Graduate Student Research Funding-apply by March 17th
In the March 2013 round of faculty research funding, the Advisory Board awarded $80,000 in funding for faculty across the departments of Economics, Religious Studies, and Political Science. Additionally, more than $25,000 was awarded to graduate students across the departments of Anthropology, History, Sociology, and Political Science.
Northwestern faculty and graduate students are encouraged to apply by March 17th, for the following funding opportunities:
Faculty Research Grants ($5,000-$25,000)
Spring 2014 deadline: March 17, 2014
Research should be closely related to core EDGS themes and lead to publication. Even if the publication is not finished at the end of the grant period, EDGS requires a Working Paper (or Papers) to be provided and a presentation of the work at an EDGS event after completing the research.
Faculty Small Research Grants (up to $4,000)
Deadline: Proposals accepted on a rolling basis.
Book Conference Grants (up to $5,000)
Deadline: Proposals accepted on a rolling basis.
These grants support single-author books by NU faculty. Your manuscript must be under contract or close to submission to a press. The book should be closely related to core EDGS themes. Recipients are encouraged to open their book conferences to NU faculty and students. Funds typically support transport costs, one night of accommodations, refreshments, and honoraria.
Faculty Conferences and Symposia Grants (up to $25,000)
Spring 2014 deadline: March 17, 2014
The event should be closely related to core EDGS themes and lead to publication (journal articles or an edited volume). EDGS requires that the papers be written for the event, submitted in advance, and revised versions submitted as Working Papers.
EDGS Speaker Series (up to $5,000)
Spring 2014 deadline: March 17, 2014
The series should be related to core EDGS themes. An honorarium of up to $150 can be paid depending on other costs in the budget. Papers presented will become EDGS Working Papers.
EDGS Graduate Research Grants (up to $2,500)
Deadline: Summer 2014 deadline–March 17, 2014
